History Jacobs and Kemper Auction and Realty traces its beginnings back to the 1920's when Reuben Jacobs filled in for an auctioneer stranded by high waters in rural Boone County. He enjoyed the experience and began conducting auctions on a regular basis around Columbia. In 1946 his son Bandy joined him in the business and remains active today. In the early 1950's Floyd Kemper joined the firm and they became one of the premier auction companies in Mid-Missouri. Floyd's son Pete began working with the firm in the late 1960's and together with Bandy is the core of the auction team to this day. Bandy Jacobs Bandy Jacobs is a lifelong resident of Boone County and has been in the auction business since joining his father's business in the 1940's. He previously was a partner in Columbia Livestock Auction for many years and knows the ins and outs of the farming industry. | |

Peter Kemper Pete is a native Boone Countian who has been a full time auctioneer for over 30 years and is well known and respected in the Central Missouri area. Pete developed the Kemper Arena facility and has experience in household, real estate, farm, and business auctions and is a CAGA trained and certified personal property appraiser. | |

Chuck Price Chuck is a graduate of the University of Missouri with a degree in agriculture. He has been in the auction business since 1986 and previously owned an antique shop in Rocheport, Missouri for 6 years in the 1990's. Chuck maintains the Jacobs and Kemper web page and is a CAGA trained and certified personal property appraiser. | |

Susan Kemper Susan grew up in Columbia and has been working with the auction company for 10 years. She handles all the office duties, computers, and records for the company and manages the day to day responsibilities of the auction business, as well for Kemper Arena and Kemper Storage. |
